20/20 Vision and a Steady Hand

Happy Friday!

I thought the images below would be a great beginning to a beautiful weekend! The images actually came to me in an email so I do not know the source of this artwork or who the artist is. I thought it was so amazing that I had to blog about  it!

Have a fabulous weekend! Collin and I are off to Mandeville, LA to visit family!

Nature Calling

First of all, let me apologize for being so out of the loop lately. Life has just been a little crazy, but I promise I'll get back on my regular, daily blogging routine.

As summer comes to an end, I wanted to showcase these lovely furniture pieces by Bruehl, a German company. This funky furniture is inspired by natural forms with an ultra-modern edge. They just make me smile, and I love the colors! Now, I don't know how practical these pieces may be but they would definitely make a statement - that's for sure!

Below: Coupole sofa and armchair. The ups and downs of the pieces are inspired by mountaintops with an abstract twist. Designed by Kati Meyer-Bruhl and available in white and sky blue.

Below: Morning Dew Chairs. Designed by Kati Meyer-Bruhl, the chairs are inspired by tulips,
with their graceful petals forming the back and arm rests.

Love this plaid!

Process This...and Some Favorites

I recently won a fabulous CSN gift card through a giveaway on Jana Marie's blog, Bonitas Cosas! If you haven't been to her site, you should definitely check it out. When I found out that I won, I knew exactly what I wanted - a new food processor. I know, it doesn't sound very exciting, but we were in desperate need for a new one (and bigger one!) I got it in the mail yesterday, and I'm super excited about it! Collin and I love to cook so it will get plenty of use. I can't wait to get in the kitchen!

Thank you, Jana Marie and CSN Stores, for the fabulous giveaway!

Here are some other items I'm loving this week...

California Modern

Happy Hump Day!

Okay, so I really love this modern California home designed by the fabulous team, Michael and Alexandra Misczynski. The home is so crisp and clean - so different than so many here in the South. Although I don't know if I would be so brave to use some of the elements or to go with such bare walls (I love artwork and notice there is not much in the photos), I love this unique home. It's a breath of fresh air. What do you think?

I'm Back...in Tennis Green!

Okay, so you're probably wondering where I have been. It's not like me to go this long without posting; and I must admit, I don't like being gone this long either. But...this past week has just been crazy. I spent the latter part of last week in Dallas at MetroCON that I posted about here, and it was great! Needless to say, though, when I got back, I was so tired! I spent the rest of the weekend just relaxing, and before I knew it, it was Monday morning and I was back to work. So, I'm sorry for being gone so long...but I'm back now!

I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to post about today. I have been playing a lot of tennis lately, and it hit me! I will post about "tennis green" because let's be honest, the color of a tennis ball is pretty cool! Well, I guess you could say it is "tennis yellow" too - or a mixture of the two - but either way, the color is striking in my opinion. I started paying attention to this color and it is really everywhere - fashion, interior design, furniture, accessories, you name it. So here's to "tennis green" and the bright, bold character that is has!

METROCON 2010 and Dallas!

Well, as it turns out, I will not be posting about the playroom project today as I planned. Why? For 2 reasons: 1) I just slap ran out of time last night to pull all the photos together - playing tennis until 9:15 did not leave me much time to get rest and give the post enough attention; 2) I'm headed to the METROCON Expo and Conference in Dallas today with 2 of my best designer friends!! I figured this deserved it's own post of sorts :)

METROCON is a large tradeshow featuring hundreds of exhibitors in the contract furnishings industry. The event also offers a number of CEU classes, and let's not forget the fabulous party on Thursday night for everyone attending. Jackson, MS hosts a similar event in October called DELTACON (which was modeled after METROCON), and being on the committee for it, we wanted to go see METROCON for ourselves! It's always a huge success, and we are looking forward to a great time in Dallas. Not to mention, it's nice being out of the office for a few days :)

I hope you all have a great rest of the week, and I will be back this weekend. Cheers! Oh, and thanks a million for the anniversary wishes. I appreciate them all!

Playroom Preview and Fresh Flowers!

Lindsey, author of Better After, was so kind to feature the antique settee that I recently had reupholstered for a client project. Chek the post out here and tune back in on Wednesday when I will reveal the entire playroom project where this settee was center stage! Here's a sneak peek...

And before I leave this morning, I have to take a moment and talk about my sweet husband and his thoughtfulness. He sent me beautiful flowers at work yesterday for our anniversary, and as always, they made my smile and were just a simple reminder of how lucky I am to have him in my life. He is my best friend, a great listener, a hard worker and just an all around passionate person in all that he does. He is simply amazing! Thanks, Collin. I love you.
